Does the thought of succulent fresh seafood, like shrimp, crab, oysters and clams, make you weak in the knees? How about fish, freshly caught off the Grand Strand coast, and served up grilled, steamed, boiled or Calabash style? We’re talking grouper, sea bass, snapper, mahi, tuna, flounder, wahoo and more, straight from the ocean. Are you still standing? If you’re thinking, “GET INTO MY BELLY…” then you must be a seafood lover. And if you’re a seafood lover, the Grand Strand is THE PLACE TO BE, especially this October! Here are two good reasons why.

The 2018 Myrtle Beach Seafood Festival

The Myrtle Beach Seafood Festival is a much-anticipated annual event that celebrates the many local seafood restaurants and eateries along the Grand Strand. This year, the festival has been expanded to three days, and will run Friday, October 5th from 6 to 10PM, Saturday, October 6th from 11AM to 7PM, and Sunday, October 7th from 11AM to 7PM. The festival is free to attend, and will take place at the Burroughs and Chapin Pavilion Place, located between 8th and 9th Avenues North in downtown Myrtle Beach. In addition to the freshest local seafood, expertly prepared by area chefs, there will also be a great lineup of entertainment, including live music, beer stations, a Cornhole tournament, and fun activities for the kids.

The 14th Annual Little River Shrimp Fest

This popular event takes place each year at the historic Little River Waterfront, just a hop, skip and a jump from North Myrtle Beach. Now in its 14th year, visitors can expect to enjoy a children’s area, face painting, stilt walkers, balloon artists, two stages of live music, and approximately 150 arts and crafts and community vendors at the Little River Shrimp Fest. Of course, you’ll also get to feast on freshly caught Carolina shrimp! Local waterfront restaurants will serve fresh seafood, and you will find many other festival food favorites. This year’s festival will be held on Saturday, October 13th from 9AM to 6PM, and Sunday, October 14th from 9AM to 5PM.
