Myrtle Beach online reports that the National Weather service issued a tropical storm warning this evening for the Myrtle Beach area:
A tropical storm warning means that tropical storm conditions are expected somewhere within the area within 36 hours. Weather service officials say the worst of Arthur should hit the Myrtle Beach area Thursday afternoon, with winds reaching at most 40 mph, which could down some tree branches.
While Thursday will be windy and rainy, the storm should not affect the holiday weekend. However, forecasters expect there to be strong rip currents this weekend, so beachgoers should be careful.
