Satisfy your taste for local, southern music by visiting the North Myrtle Beach House of Blues! Located at Barefoot Landing, and a favorite of South Carolina residents and visitors alike, The House of Blues offers a great mixture of well-known artists (such as Ciara, Disturbed and Slayer) and talented local artists to fill the calendar up with a variety of interesting shows to enjoy!

A Taste Of History

The House of Blues began with founder Isaac Tigrett’s love for the unique American art form known as the Blues. The first House of Blues opened in a converted historical house in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1992, housing live music, original folk art, and delta-inspired cuisine. Many of the artifacts and items represented in the House of Blues have historical significance. For example, the “Crazy Quilt” stage curtains pay respect to the enslaved Africans who used the Underground Railroad as a passage to freedom. These curtains have been constructed in a free-form abstract arrangement, which took over a thousand hours to complete.

Dining At Crossroads

The House of Blues introduces a mix of American and international dishes created by a rockin’ band of chefs at Crossroads. Enjoy juicy steaks or burgers, or try something a little more non-traditional such as the Applewood Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf. Bold yet classic, these contemporary twists are bound to leave your taste buds happy.

More Than Good Food And Music

On first glance it may seem that the House of Blues is merely another hot spot for good food and music. Upon closer examination, it’s clear to see it is much more than this. Not only does the House of Blues work to promote cultural diversity, yet it also exists as a profitable, principled global entertainment company that uses grass-roots efforts to find and support local artists. Want to try something a little different? Try the Murder Mystery Dinner night in an interactive comedy “Whodunit” show, or the delicious all-you-can-eat buffet at the Gospel Brunch, which includes both traditional and contemporary Gospel songs performed by amazing local talent.

Helping The Community

Not only does the House of Blues display southern culture for all its charms, it also does it part to help the local community. The House of Blues Music Forward Foundation is an independent, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to fostering unity and creating opportunity through music in the music industry. The company also works to serve the local community by feeding the homeless on Thanksgiving Day.

Interesting Facts

  • Under every stage in the House of Blues is a metal box filled with Delta Mississippi mud, welded to the structure of the stage to ensure that every artist has the roots and spirit of the South planted beneath their feet.
  • The art collection consists mostly of Folk, Outsider, and Self-Taught artwork, referred to as the Visual Blues. It is currently the largest curator of Outsider Art in the world.
  • Juke Joints are a major inspiration for the House of Blues atmosphere. This style features many hand painted signs and décor, including eclectic posters, furniture, artwork, wall murals and more.
