February marks the opening of fishing season in North Myrtle Beach, and Cherry Grove Pier is one of the area’s most popular spots.
Located on North Ocean Boulevard, the pier is an area landmark; it was built in the 1950s and has survived many a hurricane. Going fishing at the pier can cost as little as $7.50 per person, if you have your own rod and bait, and you don’t need a permit. Don’t have your own equipment? The pier has a newly remodeled tackle shop that carries rod rentals, lures and bait, as well as souvenirs so you can remember your trip. Hours can vary, so be sure to call 843-249-1625 for more information. Check out Cherry Grove Pier’s site for fishing tips and photos.
We, of course, have some great homes and condos located near the pier, so when you’re planning a fishing trip, be sure to book one of them.
