March is a grand time of year on the Grand Strand, kicking off on the 9th with the Coastal Highland Games in downtown Myrtle Beach. This inaugural event celebrates Celtic culture with athletic contests, Border Collie demonstrations, cold beer, live music and dance performances, and face painting for the wee ones. Then on March 16th, head to North Myrtle Beach for the 31st Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival starting at 9AM. This one-day, rain or shine event brings approximately 30,000 to celebrate being Irish and welcome the coming of spring. Following the parade, the festival will feature three stages of live music, 150 vendors displaying crafts, goods and services, and a children’s area with rides and amusements. A bit south in Myrtle Beach, the 9th Annual Irish Fest will take place on March 16th and 17th at Grand Park in the Market Common. Enjoy tasty eats, craft beer, vendors, live entertainment, and a kid’s zone at this family-friendly event.
