While 100% fun, beach vacations aren’t always 100% relaxing, especially when there are so many exciting things to see and do in the Myrtle Beach area! If you’re looking for the perfect way to unwind after a busy day, check out these spectacular paint and sip places on the Grand Strand!

Things To Know Before You Go

  • Most classes last approximately two hours.
  • Be prepared to get a little messy! Wear comfortable clothes.
  • Wine glasses, canvases and paintbrushes are provided. The wine is BYO (bring your own).
  • No skill is necessary. A local artist will assist you in creating your masterpiece and can guide you stroke by stroke.
  • Taking home your very own work of art is a unique souvenir of your beach vacation.

Wine and Design

Whether you’re vacationing in North Myrtle Beach or Myrtle Beach, this popular paint and sip destination has you covered with two Grand Strand locations. Choose a project from the calendar, and bring your friends (or significant other) for a night of fun.

Paint and Unwined

This little paint and sip spot is located just south of Myrtle Beach in Murrells Inlet. Enjoy a seafood dinner on the Marshwalk, set in the heart of a historic fishing village with a half-mile wooden boardwalk, and then head over to Paint and Unwind for a memorable date night or girl’s night out during your beach vacation.

AR Workshop

Register for a DIY workshop and create trendy home décor from raw materials, including wood signs and canvas pillows. The atmosphere at the Myrtle Beach AR Workshop is inspiring and comfortable, and you can bring your own favorite wine if you like.

Happy Hour Paint

At Happy Hour Paint, you’re welcome to take along snacks and beverages to your session. This Myrtle Beach paint and wood studio is locally owned, and offers a variety of paint and sip classes. No experience necessary and no rush — it’s happy hour!

Painting with a Twist

Want to discover your inner artist? Painting with a Twist in Myrtle Beach is a fun place to let your hair down and let your creativity flow. The calendar features coastal-themed canvases and you can even paint a set of stemmed glassware to take home.

Board and Brush

This BYO creative studio is located in North Myrtle Beach and is predominately a wood sign workshop. Sand, stain and paint raw wood while you sip a glass of your favorite red or white, and personalize a one-of-a-kind sign in a vintage or farmhouse design.

Of course, if painting isn’t your thing, you can always pour yourself a glass of wine and watch the sun set from the deck of your beautiful vacation rental! Contact Vacation Rentals of North Myrtle Beach for the perfect place to stay during your beach vacation.

The Grand Strand is a grand place to be on Father’s Day! Here are a few fun ways to celebrate dear old Dad this summer.

Tee up.

Whether your dad loves to golf or prefers a few rounds of put-put, the Grand Strand has you covered! There’s a reason we’re called the “Golf Capital of the World.” Here, you will find incredible golf courses up and down the coastline, including distinctive signature courses designed by top players in the sport. You will also find some of the best mini-golf courses in the country, including Hawaiian Rumble in North Myrtle Beach, where the US Pro Mini-Golf Masters are held each year.

Go fish.

The Grand Strand has several piers for saltwater fishing in the Atlantic Ocean, or you can take a charter boat on a deep-sea fishing excursion with Dad. We also offer freshwater and inland fishing on the Intracoastal Waterway and the Waccamaw River, as well as smaller rivers, bays and tributaries. A License is not needed when on a charter or fishing on a pier, but is required for freshwater fishing and fishing from the shore. Click here for information on obtaining a fishing license.

Catch a ballgame.

The Grand Strand is home to the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, a minor league baseball team in the Southern Division. Right now, they’re offering a Father’s Day Special that includes four tickets, food and beer vouchers, an on-field family photo, and on-field VIP seating for fireworks. You can even play a game of catch on the field before the opening pitch. Click here for details on this exciting offer.

 Drive a NASCAR racecar.

If your father feels the need for speed, head to the Myrtle Beach Speedway for a one-of-a-kind experience he will never forget. The Rookie Experience lets Dad drive a real NASCAR racecar by himself for eight minutes on one of the nation’s premiere speedways. Or opt for a ride along with a professional racing instructor for three to six laps, depending on the package you select. For more information, click here.

Relax on the beach.

This list would not be complete without mentioning the miles and miles of sandy beaches we have here on the Grand Strand. And every father knows there’s no better place for an afternoon nap. Give Dad a day of rest and relaxation by setting up a comfy beach chair and bringing along the latest best seller from his favorite author. And don’t forget the sunscreen!

This wild event culminates in a parade that brings locals and visitors out for an afternoon of fun and laughter.

While the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk we know and love today officially opened in 2010, this oceanfront destination has a rich history dating back to the 1930’s.

Once a bustling promenade, Hurricane Hazel destroyed the original boardwalk in 1954. The 6.5 million dollar redesign took nearly nine months to build. Recently voted one of National Geographic’s top 10 U.S. boardwalks, it runs 1.2 miles along the oceanfront, from the 2nd Avenue Pier to the 14th Avenue Pier, and is dotted with shops, eateries, and attractions.

Although some things have changed, others remain the same. Here are five must-see landmarks on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk for both locals and visitors to enjoy!

The Gay Dolphin Gift Cove

A Myrtle Beach institution, this unique store has anchored the boardwalk since 1946, and is called the nation’s largest gift shop for a good reason. Standing at a whopping twenty six thousand square feet, the Gay Dolphin has seven levels of souvenirs, novelty items, and kitschy collectibles, and is a must-see!

Peaches Corner

Since 1937, Peaches Corner has been serving up traditional boardwalk fare, including foot-long hot dogs, juicy burgers, cheese fries, and hand-scooped ice cream favorites. Located at 9th Avenue and Ocean Boulevard, a Grand Strand vacation isn’t complete without a stop at this nostalgic eatery, and a stroll on the beach.

2nd Ave Pier House Restaurant

A day on the pier and playing in the surf can really work up an appetite! The 2nd Avenue Pier House Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with a million-dollar view of the Atlantic Ocean. Options include savory sandwiches and salads, fresh seafood, and delicious steaks. Open daily; this establishment is located on the 2nd Avenue Pier, a Myrtle Beach fixture since 1936.

The Bowery

This world-famous oceanfront bar and restaurant has been a part of the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk since 1944, and is one of the coolest places to go for live music. Called the “8th Wonder of the World,” The Bowery is considered the home of country super group Alabama, and has a unique place in music history.

The SkyWheel

The newest kid on the block, this 187-foot tall Ferris wheel opened in 2011, and features 42 glass-enclosed, climate-controlled gondolas. Each sits two to six people, and is fun for all ages. With breath-taking views of the ocean, this Myrtle Beach landmark is truly must-see and is hard to miss!
