Mother’s Day is this Sunday, and you know you can’t just send flowers again. Fortunately for those last-minute planners in the NMB area, MayFest on Main and Coastal Uncorked, two excellent local festivals, are also happening this weekend.
Featuring live music, artwork and a community stage, MayFest is sure to have something Mom will enjoy. Celebrate a little early on Saturday and bring
her to see a show at the “Horseshoe”; the original Beach Boys and half of Jan and Dean will be there. (You’ll just have to go to find out which half.) Drop the younger kids off at the children’s area and browse the crafts, food and other wares the street vendors have to offer. Take in a magic show or a performance by Arts Alive. Stop by the Vacation Rentals of North Myrtle Beach booth and enter a drawing to win a free golf weekend, 12 golf memberships to the Grand Strand Golf Association, a goody basket or 30% off a week’s stay in one of our properties. Visit parks.nmb.us
for the full MayFest event schedule and parking information.
Of course, you’ll still need to observe the actual holiday on the 8th
, but you can surprise your mom with tickets to Coastal Uncorked. Beginning on Sunday, the week-long festival celebrates all things food. You can buy special prix-fixe meals created by local chefs, as well as tickets for a marvelous invention called the tasting trolley. Paula Deen is also doing a cooking demonstration on the 14th
at the Alabama Theatre. Get more details
